Like many New Zealand businesses, George Refrigeration & Air Conditioning started as a small owner-operated enterprise. Dave and Sue George began the business in 1984 working with controlled rooms, incubators, chiller packs, freezer rooms, cool rooms, standalone cabinets and air conditioning, including motor vehicle air conditioning. The business proved successful. On retirement in 2007 Dave and Sue sold the company to Shane and Nadine Sayer.
Starting out as a refrigeration engineer, Shane worked his way to the position of service manager of a multi-national refrigeration company before taking over George Refrigeration. Drawing on his breadth of local and international experience, Shane extended the work of the business to also incorporate large industrial developments, including refrigeration work for many of food company Progressive’s stores.
The industrial and commercial focus of the company has continued to grow over the years. Today, George Refrigeration is a full-service refrigeration and HVAC contractor providing professional, responsive service for all applications of commercial and industrial cooling and heating systems and equipment.
